This model will not allow you to loosen your purse strings as it runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) which is the cheapest auto fuel in the world. The three-star iconic luxury brand, Mercedes-Benz, just drove in with a CNG-complaint engine, making it more fuel efficient than the India’s cheapest car Maruti 800, which runs only on petrol.
New CNG alternative fuel of Mercedes-Benz runs over 20 km on a kg of CNG against its petrol sibling which drinks a liter for every 12 km. What is more, CNG comes at less than half the price that is Rs19 as against Rs 45.52 for petrol in Delhi. And CNG is much more cleaner than petrol.
As energy crisis grasps the world and guesses climb about a sizable fuel price hike, CNG has occupied the focus in Mercedes India plans. The German company has already brought in a couple of CNG-compatible cars to Delhi and Mumbai, permitting even the rich to have cheaper fuel options. According to sources of the automobile industry Mercedes-Benz plans to bring its global success CNG sedans to India.
